Entry 1
Date: 11-12-09 Summary: So far in the book Marked by P.C. and Kristen Cast the main character Zoey has been "Marked". When you are marked a lightening bolt apears on your head and it beins to bleed. This mark is known to everyone. So everyone knows that vampires exsist. When you are marked two things could happen. You could turn into a vampire, or you will die. In this case Zoey is surviving which means that she will have to go to a school for vampires that is only held at night. Not only that but she will have to pretty much abandon everything that she knows to be a vampire and if she lives she won't be able to die until the vampire leader says so. The boy that she was seeing notices the mark and threatens to break up with her but then he realizes that he wouldnt be able to live without her. So not only is Zoey having to give up her whole life pretty much she is going to have to protect her mortal boyfriend from all the other vampires. I am reading this book with Ben. Disscusion:Benny, so far into the story I really like it. They really jumped right in to it and it is not drug on in any way. I really am excited to see what happens between Zoey and the boy it is just a really great twist in the story. The authors did a really good job at keeping me on my feet and keeping me guessing. I just can't wait to see what happens next. I really like what has happened so far. I really just can't even imagine living in a world where vampires are a common thing. I wonder what it will be like for Zoey, and how her life will change. She will be forced to make some pretty huge changes, she will have to decide whether to be a vampire for the rest of her life, or whether she should just die. She will have to tell her family and possibly never see them again, and on top of this she will have to choose what to do with this boy she really likes. I feel like Zoey's friend is going to become trouble later on into the book and that the boy will too. I think that if Zoey falls for this boy that the other vampires will find out and trouble will start. And Zoey will be forced to save him. Benny I can't wait to see what happens next!!! Erica, so far it like it i guess lol. Its not really my kind of book that i like but its okay. Like you said it really didn't like drag on at the beginning like most books. It just started out with Zoey getting marked,and then that boy she got involved with. Man i wouldn't want to be her, it would suck to leave all your friends and family to go to a vampire school. Also i would hate to choose a new life or die because the only way for zoey to stay alive is to go to the school. Also i cant wait to see what happens next like what happens to that boy, what she chooses and all that good stuff. What will happen...so many things could she could die ( which i highly dont think that will happen), she could become a superhero.

Summary:Zoey is fighting with her mother and her step father on what should happen because of the mark. Her father believes that she is possesed and desides to have a family gathering to help persuade her away from the thing that is taking her over. In rage Zoey runs away to her grandmothers house. When she reached her grandma's house she couldn't find her so she went out to find her in the pasture. While she went to find her she thought she heard her but it wasn't. She ran and then fell, then became unconscious. While unconscious she incountered this spririt god person, which told her she was going to be an amazing vampyres.
Disscusion:Benny this chapter was very interesting. The authors did a great job at making me feel like i was in the living room with her when she was fighting with her parents, and when she was talking to the spirit. I love the imagery i am getting while reading. Erica, I feel the same way I like that it is very visual. But I do feel like Zoey is going to regret her desicion to run away because there is a possiblity that she will never see her family again. I think that this and the boy that she left behind will begin to play a roll in her performance as a vampyre.

Summary: When she woke up she was in her grandmas house or so she thought. She was actually in the school of night...this is where all people go when marked. The mark on her forehead had turned into a full moon and she didn't know why. Her grandma said sometimes someone in the family has to have the full moon when marked. Then Zoey explained what the god spirit looked like and how she was so perfect in everything. Neferet had been taking care of her and nursed her back to help. While talking to Neferet he told Zoey how it is so cool to start a new life and become a vampyre. So Zoey decided that she would stay one more day so the vampyres could observe her.
Disscusion: Benny I thought that this was really interesting. In my own opinion i think that it would be hard to make such a decision to choose to make a new life and become vampyre. Also i think that she will have somthing going on between this Neferet and Zoey. Erica I also agree with you on that. I dont think i could ever make such a decision as Zoey. I think actually it would be some hard to start a new life as a vampyre and meeting new people, doing new things and learning new stuff. i guess what im traying to say is that i couldn't do it.

Summary: She ended up staying at the school and waking to find that the mark on her face had been colored in. With Nix as her mentor, Zoey starts her new life as a fledgling. Her roommate, Stevie Rae is great, and she is given an invitation to join the Dark Daughters, the school’s most elite club, although the leader of the group isn’t at all what she appears to be.
Disscusion: Erica, I feel that Zoey sometimes likes to go with the flo rather than do whats best for her. So far all of these people are nice but who is to say that it isnt all just an act. People and things could change and she could be some sort of an experiment. She has just started at this school and already she is part of the most elite club there is? that can't happen everyday. the right Benny i totally agree with you i feel like either Nix really likes her or something, or that they are only trying to harm her. I just hope that she goes in the right path and that she makes t desicion.

Date: 11-23-09 Summary: In this club she becomes really popular and begins to learn each of the symbols that everyone has and she begins to learn the meaning of why she was marked. She is marked special as Nix says but she doesn' t know exactly what that means.
Discussion: Benny, she is gonna get herself into serious trouble this could be really bad. I feel like Nix is only pretending to be her friend at this point.
Erica, I have to disagree I think that she is doing what she feels is right for herself and she will just learn as she goes, I guess we will have to wait and see.

Summary: Zoey discovers that the reason she is so special is because her mark is colored in which almost never happens. She is really starting to like the school and she is very popular and the boy she left behind is forgotten about. She loves that people want to be around her and talk to her. Plus her mentor Nix is after her, and she is thinking about dating him. But weird dreams are starting to haunt her. About how her life would have been if she had never been marked.
Discussion: Benny, I really do like Nix and even if he is fake he is really nice and I think she should go for it. I love how he gets nervous around her and when they are in their club he is always so protective of her and makes sure that noone attacks her in any way. I think he truely is a good guy and most of the people in the school like him except Annabel but she doesn't like Zoey either.
Erica, I really think that they would make a pretty good couple also they are perfect for each other without a doubt. I really like the part of the book now.

Summary: Finally, they are really beginning to teach how to be a vampyre, Zoey is learning how to get her blood from animals but refuses to kill a human. Sometimes they get targets but she doesnt want to have to kill person. She is very good at what she does, but when Zoey goes out in the light she is unreconizablel she is just an ugly creature. So the next thing to teach her is how to transform so that she can be out in the daylight. Zoey is now starting to miss her mom and is desperate to learn this so that she can visit her. But if you talk to a human when the sun goes down you will be taken over and be forced to kill whoever you are speaking to.
Discussion: Erica, WOW this is really really really starting to get interesting. I like the way that the authors create a true visual of the classes and I like the creepy but Kind edge of Professor Zore. I just hope that Zoey can learn that spell, but i also hope she doesnt end up having to kill one of her family members.
Benny: I thought this part ok but I feel like it is a little but predictable like Zoey will learn the spell but mess it up or she is going to be with her mom passed sunset and Nix is going to prevent her somehow from killing her mother. But i do agree that the classes are really fun to read about.
